Ever wonder what happens to dogs that are too old or too ill to be adopted?
Too many times owners find out that their Pekingese has a terminal illness and they just want rid of the "old, sick dog". These dogs often end up in animal shelters or pounds, and without rescue, they would be destroyed. Part of our job is acting like an old age home for these dogs. Here are some of their stories. . . .
Meet Crissy, a 13 year old, blind female Pekingese. She has Congestive Heart Failure, and is on daily medications. She was dumped by her owners at a shelter, they gave no reason for not wanting her anymore. Crissy is still enjoying life, she has a special toy that she loves and carries it around with her. You always know where Crissy is. . . just listen for the squeek of her "alligator" and you'll find her.
